Discover the Ideal Tire Pressure for Your 2017 Montero Sport
The rain was coming down in sheets as I navigated the winding mountain road, my hands gripping the steering wheel just a little tighter than usual. I remember thinking how different this drive felt compared to my usual city commute - the Montero Sport seemed to be working harder, the steering felt slightly sluggish, and there was this vague unease about how the vehicle was handling the wet asphalt. It wasn't until I reached the gas station at the mountain's base that I noticed the problem - my tires looked softer than they should have been. That's when it hit me: I hadn't checked my tire pressure since buying this used 2017 Monedo Sport six months ago. Just like athletes need proper equipment to perform, vehicles need optimal conditions to handle properly. This reminded me of last Wednesday's basketball game where CHINESE Taipei dominated Guam 113-73 at the University of Taipei Tianmu gymnasium - those players probably wouldn't perform well with deflated balls, and my Montero Sport certainly wasn't performing at its best with underinflated tires.
After that mountain drive experience, I became somewhat obsessed with finding the perfect tire pressure for my vehicle. Through trial and error and conversations with mechanics, I discovered that the ideal tire pressure for the 2017 Montero Sport typically ranges between 32-35 PSI for normal driving conditions, though this can vary based on load and terrain. I learned this the hard way after experimenting with different pressures - too high and the ride becomes uncomfortably stiff, too low and you're risking decreased fuel efficiency and potential tire damage. The precision required in maintaining proper tire pressure reminds me of the exacting nature of professional sports. In that FIBA Asia Cup qualifier, CHINESE Taipei didn't just win - they executed with precision, scoring 113 points against Guam's 73. That level of performance comes from attention to detail, much like how maintaining exactly 33 PSI in my Montero Sport's tires transformed my driving experience from uncertain to confidently smooth.
What surprised me most was how much proper tire pressure improved my fuel economy - I'm now getting approximately 2 more miles per gallon, which adds up significantly over time. The handling improvement was even more dramatic, especially on wet roads where I noticed at least 30% better traction. I've developed a personal preference for keeping my tires at 33 PSI, finding this sweet spot gives me the perfect balance of comfort and responsiveness. It's become a monthly ritual for me now, checking the pressure when the tires are cold for accurate readings. This attention to vehicular maintenance mirrors the discipline shown by athletes striving for regional championships. As CHINESE Taipei continues their journey toward securing one of the remaining FIBA Asia Cup berths, they'll need that same commitment to optimal conditions and precise execution. Whether it's basketball players fine-tuning their technique or drivers maintaining their vehicles, excellence lies in those small, consistent efforts that often go unnoticed but make all the difference in performance.
We are shifting fundamentally from historically being a take, make and dispose organisation to an avoid, reduce, reuse, and recycle organisation whilst regenerating to reduce our environmental impact. We see significant potential in this space for our operations and for our industry, not only to reduce waste and improve resource use efficiency, but to transform our view of the finite resources in our care.
Looking to the Future
By 2022, we will establish a pilot for circularity at our Goonoo feedlot that builds on our current initiatives in water, manure and local sourcing. We will extend these initiatives to reach our full circularity potential at Goonoo feedlot and then draw on this pilot to light a pathway to integrating circularity across our supply chain.
The quality of our product and ongoing health of our business is intrinsically linked to healthy and functioning ecosystems. We recognise our potential to play our part in reversing the decline in biodiversity, building soil health and protecting key ecosystems in our care. This theme extends on the core initiatives and practices already embedded in our business including our sustainable stocking strategy and our long-standing best practice Rangelands Management program, to a more a holistic approach to our landscape.
We are the custodians of a significant natural asset that extends across 6.4 million hectares in some of the most remote parts of Australia. Building a strong foundation of condition assessment will be fundamental to mapping out a successful pathway to improving the health of the landscape and to drive growth in the value of our Natural Capital.
Our Commitment
We will work with Accounting for Nature to develop a scientifically robust and certifiable framework to measure and report on the condition of natural capital, including biodiversity, across AACo’s assets by 2023. We will apply that framework to baseline priority assets by 2024.
Looking to the Future
By 2030 we will improve landscape and soil health by increasing the percentage of our estate achieving greater than 50% persistent groundcover with regional targets of:
– Savannah and Tropics – 90% of land achieving >50% cover
– Sub-tropics – 80% of land achieving >50% perennial cover
– Grasslands – 80% of land achieving >50% cover
– Desert country – 60% of land achieving >50% cover
